Akrobatik's rhyme career hatched in 1998, when his first single, “Ruff Enuff,” dropped on Boston’s own Detonator Records.  In addition to introducing fans to Ak’s accessible intellectuality, the album paired him with co-defendant Mr. Lif for the first time and fueled anticipation for an ensuing 12” flurry.

By 2000, Ak had scored national college radio hits with “SayYes SayWord” and the jovially scathing “Internet MCs,” the latter of which was released by New York’s Rawkus Records during the imprint’s glorious heyday.  Heads were finally turning, and Ak capitalized on his buzz with a self-titled EP that moved more than 10,000 units.

Ak then signed with New York start-up label Coup D’Etat in 2003 for his full-length debut LP, Balance.  Anchored on contemporary rap classics including the famously.enlightened “Remind My Soul,” the record launched Akrobatik into the global arena and won him first prize in the prestigious International Songwriting Competition.  Back home, he clocked what would be his first of two Boston Music Award trophies for Best Hip-Hop Act, and won the heralded Boston Phoenix Readers Poll for Best Hip-Hop Album.

As a renaissance MC, Ak has stretched outside the subterranean bubble to reach new fans.  His tracks have appeared on television shows like HBO’s The Wire and ESPN’s Playmakers, in films such as Date Movie and Wholetrain, and in video games including NBA Live ’06, Amplitude, Frequency and Need for Speed Most Wanted.  Earlier this year, he even passed through BET’s Rap City to remind kids that real hip-hop still exists.

To Book This Artist:
talent@soulkore.com

Chip-fu is no stranger to the realm of hip-hop music. As a radical member of a platinum selling hip-hop group the fu-schnickens, his intricately interwoven flow left us all light-headed, exhausted and wheezing for more. The trials and tribulations of life, love and music helped Chip conceive his latest project titled M.A2.T.H. (Music, Appreciation, Art, Time and Healing) -The new ciriculum. Though his style remains on the cutting-edge of hip-hop, as a solo artist Chip has much more room to be creative. Reggae music is evident throughout the entire work and Chips natural talent interblends both worlds instinctively.

Not only was he highlighted on Ali Shaheed's CD, Shaheedullah and Stereotypes, he was featured on the 2005 Tribe Called Quest North American Tour Hes the only guest artist on Mint Conditions latest work Living the Luxury Brown and has done several shows including the 2005 Essence Music Festival to support their project.  Chip is also featured the Summer 2005 MixTape.com Underground Compilation with Jamaican recording artist Hawkeye and singers Slick and Rose. He appears on The Art of One Mind (featured with El Da Sensei), which was also released in 2005.

In 2007 he appeared on the remix for "where are they now" by Nas. He also introduced a different side of himself to the game by singing a reggae song called " love me sensi" the song and video became an instant smash and is still gaining momentum.  He also formed a new crew called JUNGLE ROCK and goes by the nick name JUNGLE ROCK JR. Chip states" jungle is the sound and the Rock is the foundation."
